Spiral Cocktail Spoons
These spiral cocktail spoons remind me of Peggy Guggenheim’s epic headboard by Alexander Calder. Needless to say, they would make one chic hostess gift. Also available as a set of spreaders, cocktail forks, and for the truly extravagant, a serving set.
Plaid Espadrilles
These colorful and comfy flats would have us all finishing summer on a high note. I am very much here for the retro plaid, but they come in other patterns and colors too. Pair them with pink socks in the fall.
Fig Leaf Wall Light
Sometimes lighting doubles as art. This ficus leaf sconce by Jess Wheeler immediately earned a save to my “dream home” file. Handmade with plaster, the details (the subtly furled edges, the veins!) are stunning. If you aren’t familiar with Jess’ work, treat yourself to a scroll.
Rainbow Filigrana Vases
Florist extraordinaire Willow Crossley (if you’re not reading her Substack you’re missing out) teamed up with French glass blower, Pierrot Doremus to dream up these fetching rainbow vases. The filigrana technique was developed in Murano, Italy, during the 16th century and I love seeing how they’ve reinterpreted it for today (a rainbow palette is always a good idea). Any table would be sweeter with one (or five!).
A Cheeky Birthday Card
This made me laugh as it’s basically my personality in a card. I have a major sweet tooth and have admittedly fallen hard for the garish victorian cake trend. The cherries on top! Mr. Boddington’s Studio is a forever snail mail favorite.
Camden Maine Public Library Archive
I stumbled across these historical photos by Theresa Babb from 1900 online (god bless an internet rabbit hole) and couldn’t get over the ladies in their formal attire. Can you even imagine trying to maneuver a canoe dressed like that?! Their laughter in the first photo is so genuine. The entire album is worth a look.
Glass Fish Napkin Rings
To be honest I’m not a big napkin ring gal, but these delicate borosilicate glass fish are too fun to resist. And for under $35…?! Yes, please. I’d pair them with subtle napkins like these so they really pop.
Floral Striped Bedding
Projektityyny dropped a new collection and it’s charming beyond words. I have my eye on the bolster pillow, frill pillow, and embroidered quilt above.
Chunky Charm Bracelet
This show-stopping charm bracelet by Edinburgh-based designer Grainne Morton features coral, glass, malachite, pink onyx, quartz and turquoise. I’m a big fan of Morton’s designs and their unapologetic quirk.
That’s all for today, folks. A huge thank you to everyone who has showed early support of this new endeavor (especially the paid subscribers—you beautiful people!!!). Stay cool in the summer heat.
omg, the vases!
