Field Notes / Vol. 20
Cheeky embroidery, paper plants, love notes, and other small treasures.
Embroidered Tea Towels
These 100% cotton kitchen towels made me smile with their cheeky embroidery in an old-fashioned stitch. Choose between WTF, OMG, FOMO, and LMAO. Given the times, WTF will likely become my go-to hostess gift.

Richard Avedon at Gagosian
If you find yourself in London between now and March 14 be sure to check out Facing West at Gagosian’s Grosvenor Hill gallery. The show celebrates the fortieth anniversary of the photographer’s iconic ‘In the American West’ series. We land across the pond a week after it closes—so sad to miss this!
Italian Toothbrush
Brushing your teeth is already a ritual, this Italian brush just makes it a chic one. Stock up on extras for guests and pretend you’re a boutique hotel.
Morning Glory Plant
I love greenery that doesn’t ask for much in return. This hand-made paper morning glory in an aged terracotta pot brightens up a forgotten spot, no watering can required.
The Polly Sweater
A subtle nod to Valentine’s that you can sport year round. The pointelle hearts are sweet as can be, and it’s available as a cardigan, too.
Mexico Modern: Architecture and Interiors
Can’t wait to get my hands on a copy of this dreamy survey of Mexican architecture. Mexico City is one of my favorite places on earth, and this feels like the perfect armchair excuse to revisit it—at least on the page.
Beadwork Mirror by Ayame Uchima
This mirror by Japanese embroidery artist Ayame Uchima blew my mind. Born in Okinawa, the young artist spent a year in Paris studying haute couture embroidery at École Lesage. You can explore more of her stunning work here.
Custom Calligraphy Valentine
This one-of-a-kind card by calligrapher Melissa Gamwell can be customized with your sweetheart’s name or initial. The cherry on top? She’s willing to send it directly to your recipient via good old-fashioned snail mail and it doubles as a keepsake (worthy of a frame!).
Le Pliage Mesh Bag with Bows
This playful new take on Longchamp’s iconic mesh bag features multicolored raffia bows. It’s available in the white above as well as a handsome tobacco hue and comes in two sizes. A fun statement for spring.
Louis Sherry Chocolate Tin
This butterfly tin designed by decoupage king John Derian for Louis Sherry includes truffles such as Pomegranate Meyer Lemon, Turkish Coffee, and Sicilian Orange. The New York-based candy company has been dreaming up fine chocolates since 1881.
Bennett Stripe Napkin
The preppy wide stripe of these 100% cotton napkins are right up my alley. They’d look brilliant paired with a floral tablecloth like this one.
More finds worth noting:

Wishing you all a peaceful Monday.
